Functions

• To advise TUCTA and its Affiliates on matters pertaining to Occupational Safety, Health, the Environment and HIV/AIDS.

• To implement and cause to be implemented, directives or decisions made by higher authorities on Occupational Safety, Health, the Environment and HIV/AIDS.

• To develop Action Plans and Programmes, both short and long term for implementation by TUCTA and/or its affiliates.

• To develop appropriate Information Systems in TUCTA and the Affiliates.

• To conduct National campaigns, through the Affiliates.

• To conduct training at the National and Affiliates level on all aspects of Occupational Safety, Health, the Environment and HIV/AIDS.

• To give technical assistance to the Affiliates by helping the establishment of structures down to the workplace.

• To link up with stakeholders: The Ministry of Health, The Ministry responsible for Labour via the Occupational Safety and Health Authority and TACAIDS (the Tanzania Communication of AIDS) amongst others.

• To observe study and analyse Social Security Issues, and establish links with Social Security Institutions for the necessary action.

• To develop and maintain a Data Bank/Data Base.
