FUNCTIONS:

• To promote gender issues in the affiliate trade unions and the inclusion of gender in union policies, programmes and activities,
• To promote the participation of women in decision-making,
• To build and enhance capacity of the gender coordinators in gender issues including analysis, advocacy and mainstreaming,
• To development of a database reflective of gender and age,
• To develop materials for training and gender issues,
• To advise and contribute to the overall planning, implementation and monitoring of gender youth programmes and activities,
• To liase with NGOs and relevant Civil Society Organisations involved in gender issues and advocacy,
• To mobilize funds for the promotion of gender related activities,
• To devise and promote mass of mobilising the youth in joining and participating in trade union work and leadership,
• to contribute to the national effect to combat child labour.
